The patented OriginCal system maintains an absolute zero point, so unlike traditional digital calipers, it can’t come out of calibration regardless of how fast the jaws are moved.
There’s also a “Relative/Absolute” button – set the jaws to a desired dimension, then switch to “relative” mode for quickly checking +/- tolerances on parts, all without losing the absolute zero when you’re finished.
