Micro Jig MICRODIAL Tapering Jig
A few well-placed tapered parts can really refine and lighten the look of your
projects, and
Micro Jig's innovative tapering
jig sets a new standard for accuracy and repeatability.
The
unique design produces dead-on tapers on up to 4 sides of your lumber using any
table saw or tapers on up to 8 sides using a left-tilt saw, and it can even
serve as a straight-line rip guide to joint rough edges on your saw.
Don't
be put off by its looks; the jig uses a simple color-coded scale to precisely
set the taper in either degrees or using rise/run measurements, whichever you
prefer.
An
equally simple set of mechanics causes the jig to positively self-align to
angles in 1/8° increments up to 10° or to rise/run settings in perfect
1/16" increments up to 2"/ft.
This indexing action provides perfect repeatability on any common angle,
and the mechanics can be bypassed to set any angle you need.
To
further enhance repeatability, the MEMORYLOCK™ stops allow instantly switching
between any two preset tapers. This is a
big time saver for projects that require tapering opposite sides of a part.
When
paired with 1 or 2
GR-200
GRR-Ripper 3D Pushblock
Systems (sold separately), the
MICRODIAL Tapering Jig provides exceptional control and greater safety when
tapering parts large or small. Unlike
traditional tapering jigs, the GRR-Ripper system allows you to control pressure
in all three directions - downward, inward and forward.
In
addition to accuracy and safety, the jig can even be used on your router table to
create custom tapered profiles like flutes and stylized grooves, opening up a
whole new range of creative possibilities.
Your
shop deserves this kind of accuracy and versatility!
